The course is to help students understand the diversity in the characteristic features, ecology and biology and effects of arthropods of veterinary and medical importance; to know the morphology, life cycles and mode of transmission of disease agents transmitted to man and domestic animals, and to apply the knowledge in the management and control of pests and vectors and vector-borne diseases affecting man and domestic animals. Through these subjects, students will acquire theoretical knowledge and practical experience in the diagnosis, prevention, treatment and control of insect vectors, diseases and disorders in companion, exotic and farm animals.
